A prominent and successful executive had a beautiful spread in the foothills of upstate NY. After years of searching for the right company, they found Compass. Their goal was an uncompromising security barrier that provided elegance and character but blended in with the surrounding décor.
After a few phone conferences, the client elected to go the route of the Design Agreement. We then did very precise measurements of the site, entered it into CAD, then designed the beautiful gates. Beautiful fluted ball finials on the top, 2 rows of custom forged scroll work, and 1 row of rings made for quite a visual impact on the graceful, sweeping curved top of the gates. Pickets were 1” solid sq. bar and gate frame was 2” sq. The bottom of the gate was a beveled, raised panel with large rivet head ornamentation. Hinge posts were 6” sq., utilized our Million Dollar Hinge, and the entire layout was designed to meet the safety entrapment standard of UL325.
There was also in-depth discussion regarding the security aspect of the beautiful gates and fence. It was determined that the gate automation would interface directly with the security system for the perimeter of the property. An additional feature needed was an AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification).
Both the design of the gate and the security aspect was a very thorough process, taking 9 months from the start of design to installation of the gate. But the end result is phenomenal, providing physical security, the authentic visual beauty of an Iron gate, and the subtle blending of color and style into the surrounding landscape.
